Our Work

CEWG is committed to centering the voices of communities impacted by climate change and environmental injustice, building a bold, collective movement that connects climate advocates across Virginia in pursuit of environmental and climate justice. We ground our work in grassroots partnership, including community conversations in energy communities on a just transition, while also building relationships with peer organizations, local government, and union leaders to ensure our efforts complement existing work and reflect a broad coalition of climate and equity voices. On policy, CEWG helped pass HB 3 and SB 5 this year, establishing Virginia's Income-Qualified Energy Efficiency and Weatherization Task Force to develop a plan for providing weatherization-ready repairs and energy efficiency upgrades to low-income households, particularly renters and residents of manufactured homes.
